Werner Faymann, Austrian Chancellor said that “Greece should get more time to repay its debts provided that it sticks to reforms and savings targets agreed with the European Union. The most important thing is that the Greeks stick to the reforms and savings targets agreed with us. If that is guaranteed, I am in favour of a delay in the repayment." The delay could be for 2 to 3 years.
Austria supports Greece and would like the country to be in the euro zone. Austria argued that with the current state of crisis and unemployment, Greece should be given a minimum 2 to 3 years for repayment.

Central bank of Austria has reported that there was a 2.8% increase in lending amount to business customers. Economists have predicted that there will be a 0.8% rise in Austrian economy in 2012.
