Team Stonach now active in Lower Austria

Austria’s newest political party led by Austro Canadian billionaire businessman Frank Stronach has now opened up an office in Lower Austria in Baden.

Opulentus AustriaThe businessman himself together with his regional party chief Karin Prokop personally welcomed several hundred guests from lower Austria to the official opening.

He also used the opportunity to promote his party’s policies of : “truth, transparency and fairness.”

He said these were values that were particularly missing in Austrian politics at the moment.

Team Stronach for Austria was registered on 25 September 2012, and was launched two days later. In a Gallup poll in September it received 10% of the vote.

Five MPs – Gerhard Köfer of the Social Democratic Party, Elisabeth Kaufmann-Bruckberger and Christoph Hagen of the BZÖ, and independents Robert Lugar and Erich Tadler – have agreed to join the party. Parties with at least three seats are automatically qualified to run in the general election.

At the party’s campaign launch for the next federal election, the party unveiled a political advertisement featuring endorsements from Bill Clinton and Larry King.[When Team Stronach was given official party status it obtained €1.4m of state funding and places on the parliamentary committees.

Team Stronach supports Austria leaving the euro and returning to the schilling. Unlike other anti-euro parties, Stronach is not anti-immigration. The party advocates cutting bureaucacy and instituting 25% flat tax on incomes. Team Stronach also supports ending conscription and introducing an all-volunteer army.
